About Sonia

Sonia Gimenes brought the artistic technique of making pieces of art using butterfly wings from her native Brazil.  Her handmade artwork has received praise from butterfly lovers around the globe. She has also been invited to participate in several juries art festivals in Florida. “I create this artwork to preserve the natural beauty of the butterfly, even after their death,” Mrs. Gimenes says. “I want to show everyone in the world how truly beautiful are these insects that nature has to offer.”

Using various species of butterfly wings, she creates different abstract designs that serve as decoration pieces such as plates, trays and frames. All of these are one-of-a-kind pieces of art.
